Right To Play is proud to announce Dag Skattum as the new Chair of the organization’s International Board of Directors.

Skattum has 30 years of experience in private equity and strategic advisory including senior executive roles at Blackrock, JP Morgan and TPG Capital. He joined the Right To Play board in 2011 and quickly became one of the organization’s most committed supporters.

“For close to a decade, I’ve been privileged to see firsthand the incredible impact Right To Play programs have on the lives of children around the globe. I am excited to continue supporting management in building a dynamic, resilient and visionary organization as we scale-up our programs to protect, educate, and empower the world’s most vulnerable children through the power of play in the coming years,” said Skattum.

“Right To Play is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. As we chart a bold and ambitious vision for the future, I can think of no-one better positioned to guide us than Dag. He has a deep understanding of our programs, which he has visited many times in Africa and the Middle East, and we are honoured to welcome him as Right To Play’s new Chair,” said Dr. Kevin Frey, CEO of Right To Play.

Skattum takes over for Rob MacLellan, who has served on the Right To Play board for ten years, eight of those as Chair. It is difficult to overstate the impact MacLellan has had at Right ToPlay. Over his tenure, he led the organization through a leadership transition and the implementation of a new strategic plan. He has been a generous supporter of and an active participant in the organization’s mission, making many trips to visit in Africa and the Middle East.

“On behalf of everyone at Right To Play, I’d like to express deep gratitude to Rob for his many years of service,” said Frey. “Rob has been a tireless ambassador for the organization, and his dedication and vision has been instrumental in Right To Play’s success. We are delighted that he will continue to be involved with Right To Play through our Global Leadership Council” said Skattum.

“I have been proud to serve on Right To Play’s board and to have been able to contribute to bringing the transformational power of play to the lives of children around the globe,” said MacLellan. “I am transitioning from the role of Chair onto the Global Leadership Council at a moment of great strength and momentum for the organization, and I am excited to see the Right To Play thrive under Dag’s leadership.”
