Sea Crossing 2022
When passion and social commitment go hand in hand
The Young Professionals organised the third private lake crossing for a good cause and swam from Kilchberg to Küsnacht on 1st of July 2022. Prior to the event, the 21 swimmers diligently sought sponsorship from their network and were able to generate donations of around CHF 13.000, which will be divided equally between the NGOs Right To Play and the Almaawiya School in Lamu, Kenya. In generous support, an additional CHF 1000 comes from Rahn+Bodmer Co.
Since earliest times, open waters have been swum by humans, both out of necessity and for pleasure. But to engage in this supreme physical and mental feat for the benefit of others is an act of solidarity and conviction. Swimming in a pool and swimming in open water are like night and day. Open water swimming requires additional skills regarding orientation, waves, water temperatures and currents. For most athletes, open water swimming means a challenge and the feeling of freedom. This was also the case for our Young Professionals who also made the third lake crossing a great success.
The charity was supported by Macam Insurance Services, Soho Ski Club, Maison Noir und Rahn+Bodmer Co.
We would like to thank Martin Howell, the sea crossing team and all participants for their commitment. Together we make children strong so they can live a life in dignity and safety.
